I've owned this hat for 20+ years and have never considered retiring it or trading it in for a new one. I worked hard and sweated even harder to achieve this 'perfect' look to my hat. I don't believe that Tilley makes the wide-brimmed version of this hat any longer and it's a sad world for that.

I was pursuaded to buy one of these while traipsing around a country fair in midsummer. I always thought Tilleys were for people who wear white socks with orthopaedic sandals. I still think it looks pretty questionable.
This hat offers good sun protection, folds away easily, and handles fairly strong winds thanks to the clever twin strap system (I added a drawstring toggle to mine to make it even better). The vents and light hemp material are breathable enough to make this fairly pleasant to wear. It will soak through with sweat eventually, which will be visible from the outside, but I'll take that over a sunburnt scalp. Great that it's made from all-natural, breathable materials too.
I'm now considering another T5 for winter to replace my usual waxed canvas flat cap.
Tilley, please add brim dimensions to your hat descriptions.
