The hat has a wider brim than I expected. But I've worn it in considerable wind, and the neck cord holds it on my head while the brim doesn't flap. It's lightweight for travel, looks like it will wash easily, offers great sun protection, and is cool in warm weather. An excellent summer weight alternative to my Tilley classic with its heavier material. Also a good value compared to other hat prices.

My favorite hat for desert hiking in Utah and Arizona. I agree with another reviewer that a third sizing option would be ideal, but the adjustable elastic cord helps. It’s less stiff and structured than other Tilley hats, but that’s the intention of the Dunes collection.
