Reflecting about owning repeat Hemp Hats

I have owned several Hemp hats looking back, most of them were all medium brimmed. Made the mistake of owning a larger brimmed Hemp Hat, and every time the wind picked up, it flew off my head, lesson learnt. When it was time to trade in, I gladly returned to medium brimmed hat. For anyone wishing how to wash your heavily sweat stained Hemp hats (but that would be for any seasonal Tilley hat owned, throw in dishwasher if possible, as throwing into a washer, breaks it down faster. My first Tilley hat was T3, and every time it was washed in a washer, it definitely broke down faster, and needed to trade in more often!

I’ve been wearing Tilley brand hats for 30 plus years. Buy one, get the warranty replacement hat, re-buy, receive replacement hat. For the last 5 years, been wanting to replace my T5 Hemp Hat, maybe it’ll happen this year. Having the capabilities of returning to HQ in Toronto is always a treat, seeing the same salespeople at the store. ‘I’m curious if they can make a combo of the T5 Hemp Hat with Airflow Hat, maximize the ventilation on those hot sticky days?’

    Tie dye

The hemp dyes very well. My daughter used an ice bath dye process. This is the second one. The first one was accidentally left at a restaurant in saugerties NY and someone took it, even though my contact info was in it along with my brag tags that did not come with my second one. Different color schemes on both. Love the hat

    I recommend Tilley to all!!!!

I'm new to shopping with tilley...

    Good customer service and products.

They do stand by their word which is rarely found these days. Prices are a bit more than I'd like to pay then again you get what you pay for. Perfect look and fit. If you like wearing skull rags under your hats I'd recommend getting one size up from what you generally wear. If not and you like a tight snugg fit then go with your regular size. Machine washing may shrink hat down one size. Hope this helps and thanks for reading my review...

    Essential PPE

Had my hat now for over 10 years and while a bit faded it’s still in great condition, as a locomotive driver in Australia it’s become an essential part of my PPE and it’s comfortable whether it’s stinking hot or pissing down.

    A great hat for adventures

Purchased around 2008 and still being used in 2024, although it does have a substantial amount of “patina”

I’ve used it year round walking my Labrador, I’ve used it hiking and on sea kayaking trips and expeditions… it’s been an indispensable companion…
