Finally fell apart after 12 years and Tilley is honoring their guarantee of shipping a new one. I was beginning to think this hat was indestructible. Very comfortable and kept the sun off my ears and neck and great in the rain.
I was so impressed with their hat, guarantee and followup to the get me a replacement that I ordered another one in addition to the replacement one so I don’t have to carry the same one between houses.

I am lucky to have both Summer and Winter Tilley hats, my favourite T5MO hat was showing unsightly signs of wear after many years of use, sadly and rather reluctantly, I was just about to consign it to the waste bin when my wife reminded me of the Tilley replacement policy. I
decided to follow her suggestion and sent off for a replacement hat, the process could not be any quicker or simpler, from sending an initial email, filling out a few details and sending a few photos during the correspondence with the good people at Tilley. The Tilley Team kept me informed during all stages of the process from acceptance of the claim to the actual dispatch and tracking of the hat’s journey to my home. I purchased one of these hats in 2019. It went with me to Alaska on my grizzly bear hunt. The hat is fantastic. It keeps the sun, rain, and snow off of you and your head dry. We are looking for one for my son now as he likes mine so much.

I bought this hat a decade ago and have worn it for countless hours on the hiking trails. It has served me well. It has protected me from the sun rain snow! Alas it developed a tear the last time I wash it. My hat came with a lifetime warranty so Tilley is suppose to replace. I will let you know how that works out!

My hat was a replacement provided with the lifetime guarantee. I had the previous hat at least ten years and many many miles and adventures. A friend who is also a Tilley owner told me they were no longer providing replacements because “it had gotten out of hand.” I was glad he was wrong. I love my new one even better because I requested the replacement one size larger. It fits better and is more comfortable. I look forward to it being my constant companion just like the previous version. The photo below is my previous hat. I started telling people I used it to fend off a bear. Which was much more interesting than I just wore it out. RIP old friend
