I like it, its a well made hat, but definitely runs a little tighter than my other tilley hats that are the 1/8 larger. Typically i wear a 7 1/2, and I ordered a 7 3/8 for a slightly more snug fit, and ive found the 7 3/8 fits like a 7 1/4. It definitely still fits, so I'll be keeping it, but I would go 1/8 larger if I was to order it again.
That being said, it stays put in heavy wind, and is pretty good at repelling rain. If you wear a hooded jacket alot, i would go with a different style though as the back of the brim rides pretty low and gets caught in my hood.

This hat genuinely appears indestructible. I have dragged it through brush and thorns that scratch at it for years doing survey work and it has not got a single thread out of place. The only that has ever been damaged is the only part I had added myself, a maple leaf for the front. The hat is machine washable as well (remove the insert first and set to cold, air dry) which makes it ideal for hot summer work days. I have re waxed it once with no issue to top up the water resistance.
A nice feature is the brim which is reinforced to hold it's shape but can easily bend against a car head rest and snap back.
The only thing I would add to the design is a slightly longer chin strap cord and of course an embroidered maple leaf!

I was attracted to the rugged look and waterproofing and of course knowing the Tilley quality ( I have warn "The Tilley Hat" for decades ).
