I was on a safari boat on Lake Kariba, South Africa and my hat blew off into the water with crocodiles and hippos. I could see it floating as our boat is getting further away from it. One of the crew got into a platoon bot that we were towing and was able to get my hat. When he brought it back to the boat, I was expecting it to be drenched with water, but to my surprise it was not. The hat was in the water FLOATING for a good 5 plus minutes. I thought for sure it was gone, but I was able to continue with my hat for the rest of my trip

My husband and I both bought a Tilley Airflow hat in 2013 for a trip to Tanzania and Kenya. These two hats have kept us dry, cool, and sun protected in Africa and Nova Scotia. We have had them on for white water rafting in Colorado and tubing in N.C. The Tilley hat stays on in high winds and high surf! They served us well on the West Highland Way in Scotland too. Recommend the Tilley hat for all your adventures!

I bought mine over 30 years ago in Florida Basspro i think. I remember thinking, I'll get a new one with the Guarantee if i loose it or it turns out to be rubbish. This hat has travelled the world with me, I was a long haul pilot. now i live in Thailand. Over 30 years it is still as good as ever and it's worn most days. Ok its a bit small now but i just wet it and stretch it, not sure if it's shrunk or my heads just got bigger at 68 years old probably the Latter. The best purchase i ever made bar none . And other than my wife it's best thing i've managed to hold on to. Thanks Tilley
I would advise anybody that needs a hat, don't mess around buy a Tilley it'll last you forever.

Wore this hat on two trips to the South Pacific and to Australia and here outside at home. It is comfortable in all kinds of weather and protects me from the sun, especially in Australia. The hat is a bit beat up and has some blood stains (from prospecting in Australia) but is still going strong. Now buying a 2nd one for going out in public. My original is graduating to protecting me in the vineyard.
